So, after the concert, a big fan like me naturally heads towards the buses. And, after an hour or so of waiting in the cold - only have just given in to my dad getting my sweater for me - Mike Dirnt walks by across the parking lot with his beautiful wife. Obviously, I started yelling for him to come over, and he did. He gradually made his way down, until he got to me. I simply asked for him to give me a hug and sign my poster - all the while i was crying. He signs my poster, and gives me a sweet hug after asking me to “put my marker down, I really like this coat” and i’m a blubbering mess. He then smiles at me, winks, and gives me a highfive. As he turns to go to the next person, i say thank you, i love you, blah blah blah, and my dad reaches his hand out to Mike, and says “Thank you for making my daughters life” and Mike slaps his hand into my dad’s for a shake and says “No problem” with a big smiles towards us both. And that’s my story of meeting Mike Dirnt from Green Day.
